Wildfire Safety

Wildfires are not common in the state of Alabama but droughts have proven they are possible. It is important to plan know in the event of another drought and wildfires.

Protect Your Property: Create three zones of defensible space around your home or business.  Defensible space should be up to 200 feet from a structure. Photo ID, proof of address and medical records are a few items that need to be protected before a wildfire hits. Click HERE to learn how to prepare for wildfires.

If authorities advise or order you to evacuate, do so immediately. Be sure to remember the Five Ps of Evacuation: People, Prescriptions, Papers, Personal Needs, and Priceless Items. Store supplies now so you can grab them quickly if you need to evacuate. Take time to make a list of the things you would need or want to take with you if you had to leave your home quickly.
